Windows Password Reset Using Command Prompt
⚠️ Note: Use these steps only on your own computer or with proper permission.
Step 1
Hold the Shift key and click Restart.
After the system restarts, go to Troubleshoot.
Click Advanced options.
Click Command Prompt.
Type the following commands:
C: cd \Windows\System32 ren utilman.exe utilman1.exe ren cmd.exe utilman.exe exit
Step 2
Now continue to the login screen.
Click on the Accessibility icon.
Type:
control userpasswords2
Select the user account.
Click Reset Password.
Type the new password and click OK.
Restart the computer again.
